Whether you believe in astrology or not, when the planets and stars do weird things in space, there's no way it doesn't affect everyone. I can tell you from experience, retrograde is a freaking nightmare. As an empath, it's like when hair is constantly on end and no matter what I do, I just can't relax. It's so annoying. Now I know, sometimes people are just weird, myself included, and likely there's a more reasonable explanation, but until one is presented to me, I'm sticking with retrograde because it's the best one I've got!
So - I've begun some work on Loving Undercover, but it is very early on so I don't have many details. Suffice it to say, there will be some interesting conflicts for Kris and Joe as they embark on their new life together. You'll probably find yourself asking, "will they or won't they?" Honestly, I don't know the answer yet, but that's part of the fun! I rarely plan a book before it's written so I am just as excited writing it as I hope you are to read it! Switching gears, I have been putting some thought into Legacy of Secrets and what comes next. I think, perhaps, I will pick back up on it after I get Loving Undercover completed. I know, I know - it's been a hella long wait, but I don't feel as though I've been doing the story justice with my current tries and I really just want it to be perfect. This series has been my heart for the last several years, so I'm sure you can understand my reluctance to just put out whatever word vomit I happen to type and slap a cover on it. I want to do it right. So, I'll think on it a bit more and post up a timeline of releases and preorders. Stay tuned for that!! Lastly, COME JOIN ME ON IG! Welcome to the jungle!
Life sure has been crazy around here! Between full time work, part time work, writing, momming, and trying to sleep, I've got a lot going on these days. Most recently, I've put a lot of effort into exploring Instagram and networking with other authors and readers alike. It's been a fun exchange, but it can be quite the rabbit hole! I've also made some updates to the site and added some new stuff. I'm not a pro by any means, but I try to do what I can, where I can. I've managed to keep things updated for the most part, so I guess I'm doing alright. Soon, I will be enlisting some help so I don't forget to post blogs like I have been the last several months. Whoops. I've made some decent progress on Blood Promise and I've lined up some beta readers to help me after it's finished. I would pay for editing, but I'm poor so I've got to work with what I can for free. It's not ideal, but it usually works out fairly well. Some of the readers know me personally, but the majority are fresh faces and eyes which is so great to have after all this time. People tend to become bias after a while. I'm also excited to embark on a new project soon that will be an exclusive to Wattpad. I plan to begin working on it this Fall/Winter and I will likely update chapters every few weeks until it's done. I may change my mind fifteen hundred times, that's the goal anyway. I don't think I have much else in the way of updates. Share the love!! xoxoxo Lisa When I started writing this post tonight, I was prepared to come out swinging with bold statements and statistics, etc. Then, I decided it was probably to worst thing for me to do right now, and decided to instead discuss what you come here for: books and bookish things.
I don't like to discuss politics and other current events too much, mostly because I don't want to impose my will onto anyone else, but also because I don't think it's fair to make people choose between my beliefs and my work. So, let's all forget about the craziness of the world right now and talk about something fun! If you're not following my on IG (you totally should, btw) I've been posting frequently about my #wordcountgoals. I'm planning to keep going with this until I finish Blood Promise, which will hopefully be in about two weeks. Then, it will be off for editing and I'll be moving on to my next project. Phew! EXCITING NEWS!! Falling Undercover is now available for PREORDER!! You will be able to read it on November 23, just in time for some holiday comfort reads to go with the comfort food!! I couldn't be more excited to be bringing this brand new genre into the fold and see where it takes me. I have a bit more work to do in order for it to be presentable, but I have no doubt it will be, at the least, moderately entertaining (lol). There are so many more projects I have in the works and ideas that are constantly flowing, I honestly which I could just pull the info from my mind without needing to go through the painstaking process of ACTUALLY writing it. I already know all the details in my mind -- it's just so inconvenient to have to type all that shit out. (Am I right?) In all seriousness, I've got some good stuff going on and I'm reinvigorated for this new chapter in my life and career (pun only slightly intended). I'm looking forward to more trade shows in the coming months as well as some local signings and readings. There is just so much to plan!! Off I go to get some more words in tonight. 'Til next time!! These days, I'm plugging away at my various books in the attempt to start releasing new titles again because, let's face it, I've been pretty bad at that, too!
My ultimate goal is to put out two or three books this year, one of which is the next installment of Legacy of Secrets, Blood Promise. I finally found a groove in the story and have made some good progress. The next book is Thea's Reawakening which is the first of my shifter novels. And finally, Falling Undercover will be the last one I release. I don't know exact dates yet, but I'm aiming for the next one to be VERY SOON!!
